And so a journey begins. My son has started a new phase in his life - college. Drew is our first-born so this is all new to my wife and I. It's a big change in any parent's life and it carries with it a lot of emotions. Certainly, it's a distinct reminder that we are getting older. A change like this can be difficult so I thought it might be fun to find an activity to ease the pain of the transition. At first I thought I would be doing it for Drew, to make being away from home a little more comfortable. I soon realized that it was just as much for me, to make him being away from home easier. Either way, the plan is to eat our way through the city over the four years he needs to matriculate. Once a month or so I am going to pick a place and we are going to go for lunch. We'll start close to the University and expand outward. Some months it will be as simple as a food truck, others it will be upscale. My only criteria is that food needs to inspire me and draw me to it. Hopefully, it's a good way for Drew and I to connect regurlarly and share a meal.
